Facebook Security
After their founder's Facebook page was hacked, Facebook decided to provide an option to turn on SSL connectivity for all Facebook pages. You can turn this on by:
- Log into Facebook
- Select Account
- Select Account Settings
- Select Change on the Account Security option
- Check mark: Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible
- Save
Why is this a big deal? Previously Facebook only provided SSL for authentication only, once authenticated all data was being exchanges with Facebook servers in clear. This allowed man in the middle attacks and sniffing attacks.
So even if you do not understand the security implications, I would strongly advise that you turn this option ON!
